Upload audio of yourself singing or record it live, and Suno learns your vocal characteristics to apply to subsequently generated tracks. Your voice becomes an instrument.

The safeguards against misuse are carefully designed too. It matches the uploaded voice against a liveness check in which you speak a random sentence, confirming it really is your voice. Created voices are private by default, so other people cannot use yours without permission. Voice sharing is planned for a later update.

People who have used it say, "The voice doesn’t sit on top of the track; it sings with the track." That seems to capture the point.

Chat Mode — Making Music Through Conversation

Chat Mode, also enhanced alongside v5.5, deserves attention.

It lets you make music conversationally in natural language instead of writing technical prompts. Enter something like "a late-night feeling, a little sad and warm," and Suno converts it into parameters.

But experts make one central point: Use Chat Mode and Prompt Mode together. Chat Mode for exploring ideas, Prompt Mode for precise control. They complement each other rather than one replacing the other.
